5 Bear Claw Beaded Necklace - Copper Electroformed
5 Bear Claw Beaded Necklace - Copper Electroformed
5 copper electroformed bear claws sit on a strand of Montana red dendritic agate (also known as flower agate), carnelian, and copper beads. The claws are not stationary but rather move freely and sit on the chest in a paw like structure. This necklace is intended as a display piece primarily and to be worn on special occasions rather than everyday wear. The 5 claws really emphasize the magnificence of bears and what they are capable of with the swipe of a paw! I find that displaying the claws as a necklace has a different aesthetic to having a hide display with the paws intact as this presentation makes the polished claws the focal point and is more palatable for those who aren’t as accustomed to taxidermy. The necklace is 23 inches long and features an s-hook style clasp. The white leatherette display bust is included.

My bear claw jewelry line features real American Black Bear claws (Americanus Ursus). They are legally and ethically sourced in Montana, where we have a thriving bear population. Hunting is a big part of the culture here and respecting the state and federal laws ensures that we have a healthy wildlife population now and in the future. Some of the claws come from hunters who don't have a use for them, others are reclaimed from old rugs/hides. The bears are never hunted for the sole purpose of obtaining their claws.
Due to the natural material of claws, you may see scuffs or scratches. I spend a significant amount of time bringing the claws to a high polish but some scuffs can't be removed entirely.
I believe when we carry animal parts with us we are welcoming the spirit and symbolism of that animal into our life; embodying the strengths of that animal requires respecting and honoring it. If you are drawn to wearing bear claw jewelry, I encourage you to look into the spiritual meaning of the bear and how you wish to apply Bear's strengths into your life.
